Today the Loona Automation network grew by nine tools — every one free, no sign-up, and running 100% in the browser, so your files never leave your device. Here is what launched, and a little of how each one works.

📝 Loona Text Tools — now 41 tools

OCR Image to Text Converter — Drop in a photo or scan and get editable text. It uses Tesseract.js (v6) compiled to WebAssembly, running locally: around 95–99% accuracy on clean printed English text, a few seconds per page. Honest limits are printed on the page: the first run downloads the ~11 MB engine (cached afterwards), and handwriting or complex tables are weaker than clean print.

Citation Generator — APA 7, MLA 9 and Chicago 17 (author-date) references for websites, books and journal articles. The formatter implements the fiddly rules properly — including the APA ellipsis for 21+ authors and the MLA "et al." threshold — and it passed a 26-case test suite against hand-checked examples.

EPUB Reader — Open an .epub and read it in the browser: table of contents, chapter navigation, font-size controls, light/dark reading themes. It is a hand-rolled parser on top of JSZip (an EPUB is a zip of XHTML), with a strict sanitizer — scripts and event handlers inside a book can never run. DRM-protected books cannot open, and the page says so plainly.

🛠 Loona Developer Tools — now 23 tools

ZIP File Creator and ZIP File Extractor — built on JSZip, entirely client-side. Round-trip tested byte-for-byte, including nested folders.

📄 Loona PDF Tools — now 20 tools

Fill PDF Form — Fills real AcroForm fields with pdf-lib: the page lists every fillable field it finds, you type, and you download the completed PDF. Flattening is optional and off by default, and the page explains why. If a PDF has no fillable fields (flat or scanned), it tells you instead of pretending.

Compare PDF — Extracts text from two PDFs with pdf.js and shows a page-by-page, line-level diff: what was removed, what was added, which pages are identical. It compares text only — layout and image changes are out of scope, and the page says exactly that.

🎙 Loona Audio Tools — now 12 tools

SRT Subtitle Editor — Load an .srt or .vtt, edit cues in a table, shift all timings (or just a range), auto-fix overlaps, and download as SRT or WebVTT. The timing logic is covered by 62 automated tests, including hour rollovers and malformed-cue handling.

🔳 Loona QR Codes — now 37 generators

Barcode Generator — Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, UPC-A and ITF-14 with GS1 check digits computed and verified — a wrong check digit means real scanners reject the barcode, so the test suite checks the maths against known retail codes. PNG and SVG download.

Every tool on the network follows the same rules: free, fast, no sign-up, your data stays on your device, and an honest note on the page about what the tool cannot do. The full network — 28 sites, 969 pages — is linked from loonaautomation.github.io.
