So what is Muse, actually?

Muse is Meta's personal AI agent. The important word is agent. A normal chatbot gives you text and stops. Muse has its own computer: it can browse the web with sources, work with your email and calendar if you connect them, build real documents and files, and keep working on scheduled tasks after you close the app — then report back only when something actually changes.

I'm a full-stack engineer (6 years building software, 2 years building AI agents professionally). I don't need another chatbot. What I needed was something that finishes chores. Here's what it actually does for me:

1. My inbox, pre-chewed. My Gmail was mostly receipts and marketing noise. Muse triaged it — surfaced the bills, security alerts and expiring services, archived the junk, and deleted nothing without my say-so.

2. Side-project research I would never have time for. I'm building freelance AI-agent work on the side. Muse drafted my Upwork profile, researched which iOS app categories have real buyout demand, and kept the selection criteria in a living document instead of a chat I would lose.

3. Watchdogs, not reminders. It watches deadlines that matter (a subscription renewal that would lapse if unpaid) and only taps me when something changes — not a daily "all normal" I would learn to ignore.

4. It asks before anything hard to undo. Sending a message, spending money, publishing something — still my call. That's a feature. I wouldn't delegate to it otherwise.

The honest limits

  • Availability: US, Canada and Japan for now. An invite code doesn't bypass regional availability.
  • Tokens are usage credit inside Muse, not cash. You can't withdraw them.
  • It can be wrong. It works best with a clear brief and a human reviewing the output.
