When we shipped Dev Second Brain, the part that had to earn trust first was the Dataview layer, the queries that pull decisions, incidents, PR reviews, and open tasks into a dashboard. A pretty vault shell without working queries is just folders.
So we made a decision: put the Dataview starter queries out free.
It's a small pack of 10 queries for a developer vault. You drop them into Obsidian (with the free Dataview plugin), point them at your own notes, and see whether the pattern fits how you work. No vault purchase required. If a query doesn't match your folder names, you edit one line and try again.
Why it matters: you should feel the queries work in your files before you buy a full template. We'd rather someone walk away after five minutes with the free pack than buy something they can't use.
