I’ve been working full-time on inkdb for the past three months.
I started this project because I wanted to understand how databases actually work under the hood. I decided to try building something compatible with SQLite, which turned out to be a lot harder than I expected, especially the B+Tree storage engine. I ended up rewriting it twice before I got it working properly.
I’ve been testing it against SQLite’s PRAGMA integrity_check. Most things work, but there’s still one annoying 4-byte leak when inserting a cell into the freelist that I haven’t figured out yet.
It currently supports only a small subset of SQLite, but I’ve learned a ton building it.
I’d love some feedback on the code if you have time to take a look. Thank you!
