Three more Japanese-market MCP servers have landed on the official MCP Registry under io.github.atushi1841, all status active. They wrap three different Japanese e-commerce sources into plain MCP tools, so an agent can query prices and listings instead of scraping HTML by hand.

The three servers

Server Source it wraps Apify Store Registry
japan-market-mcp Cross-shop price comparison across Mercari, Rakuten, Yahoo! Auctions Apify Store Registry
mandarake-surugaya-mcp Suruga-ya second-hand listings & market prices Apify Store Registry
rakuten-japan-mcp Rakuten Ichiba product search & category ranking Apify Store Registry

Each server is also published as a managed Apify Actor on the Apify Store under the same names, so you have two paths: connect the MCP server directly, or run the Apify Actor and pipe its JSON output into your own tooling. The Apify path needs no scraping setup on your side — the actor handles the source site.

Why these three

Japanese e-commerce has a structural problem for AI agents: the big platforms (Rakuten, Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions, Suruga-ya) expose no public API to ordinary callers. You either negotiate enterprise access or scrape. Scraping breaks constantly, so these servers sit between the source and the agent and keep the translation layer maintained.

japan-market-mcp is the highest-traffic one — it has run over 600 times on Apify since launch, mostly for cross-shop price comparison. rakuten-japan-mcp covers the largest single marketplace in Japan. mandarake-surugaya-mcp covers the second-hand hobby/goods market, which is a different beast from retail: listings are individual items, not catalog SKUs, so the price signal is per-listing rather than per-product.

How to connect

Add to your MCP client config:

{ "mcpServers": { "japan-market-mcp": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@smithery/cli@latest", "run", "atushi1841/japan-market-mcp"] } } }

Or open the Smithery page for any server and copy its snippet into Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Cline.

What I'd like feedback on

  • Which source would you most want wrapped next? (Currently covered: EC prices, fuel, real estate, TCG, anime figures.)
  • Do any of these fail to connect on a particular client? I want to fix transport issues before they get reported.

The full source is on GitHub under the atushi1841 namespace. MIT-style, and the free endpoints need no API keys.
