No one stays young forever, especially not in a war-torn place like Gaza. For the past three years, I have been doing everything I can to help my family and neighbors survive in our displacement camp. But at this point in my life, I realized that the greatest way I can truly support them in the long run is to finish my studies, build a career, and provide a stable future for us all.
Due to the current blockade and severe lack of funds, it was impossible for me to leave Gaza this year—stripping yet another precious year from my educational calendar. But I refuse to give up. To ensure my dream doesn't slip away, I have set up a clear plan to pursue my degree abroad. I applied to the University of Glasgow and have officially received my acceptance letter!
However, turning this hope into reality is by no means a walk in the park. Beyond the university tuition, we are facing the harsh reality of daily survival on the ground:
Winter Cold & The Struggle with Smoke: With winter setting in, our children’s eyes are exhausted and burning from the constant smoke of burning wood used for cooking and heating. The thick smoke makes breathing difficult, hurts their eyes, and increases our urgent need for eye drops, basic medicines, and proper shelter.
Severe Living Conditions: Extreme weather, lack of clean water, and constant food shortages make every single day a battle for survival.
Financial Requirements & Emergency Needs:
Tuition Fees & Academic Costs (University of Glasgow): £33,000 (Covering entry fees, books, and essential electronics)
Winter Shelter, Firewood & Emergency Needs: $1,700 (To renovate our tent, buy essential firewood 🪵, warm winter clothes, food, and basic medical supplies)
We believe that with your help, this incredible endeavor is possible. I am not asking for a life of luxury; I am asking for survival, health, and a solid foundation to support my parents, brother, and sister after all they have endured.
Even a small donation of $10 makes a world of difference—every single cent counts towards protecting my family from the winter cold and securing my education.
