Agents are here to stay - which means slop is too. Unfortunately it's easy to vibe a plausible thing for A Show HN, so Show HNs have become cynical half-finished toys that only demonstrate the creator's ability to ask agents for a thing. Shipping your first draft forces others to see the mess and decide if there's any "there" there.

Badly written READMEs; landing page full of LLMisms; a buggy mess that only works on my box.. all signs a person hacked a thing together without the love and craft to which the hacker ethos aspires..

So - my Ask: can we raise the bar, and if so, by how much and what does it look like?

For example, can Show HN submissions require "proof-of-work", ie. here's how I did this that goes beyond just prompting; a behind-the-scenes, if you will.

Does that conflict with the old "I hacked this cool thing together over the weekend!" What would prove a weekend project wasn't just done by prompting while sipping coffee? Is it OK to prompt and sip coffee if the prompt is "you can do it just keep going" ala Anthropic? Can handcrafted coexist with agentic? Or are they forever enemies?
