I am an indie developer from India. Like many builders here, my dream was simple: build a clean, useful product from scratch and share it with the world.

So, using Google Gemini Build in AI Studio, I built and deployed a full-stack platform called Astro Discover (https://astrodiscover.ai.studio) — a fast, clutter-free launchpad designed for developers and early startups.

The code was working. The design looked great. The backend APIs were fast.

Then came the hardest phase of all: trying to get the first 100 visitors.

The Reality of Distribution for New Builders

When you are a new developer trying to get visibility from countries outside the US/EU tech bubble, you quickly hit walls everywhere:

  • Backend: Node.js / Express
  • Database: Cloud Firestore for real-time community upvotes and discussions
  • Intelligence: Google GenAI SDK for automated malware verification and metadata extraction
