Why I built it
CNC education is stuck: industrial simulators cost thousands, and free tools are either 2D toys or install-heavy desktop software. Students learning G-code deserve to see the material get cut away in 3D as the program executes — in a browser tab, with nothing installed.
CNC Simulator Pro is exactly that: a free, open-source, professional-grade 3-axis milling simulator that runs 100% client-side.
Try it now: rudra496.github.io/cnc — no installs, no signups, no fees.
What's inside
- High-fidelity 3D machining center — real-time stock removal as your G-code executes, rendered with Three.js / react-three-fiber
- Real-time G-code visualization — watch every move animate line-by-line
- Shop-style DRO control bar — live position readout like a real machine controller
- Feeds & speeds calculator — proper cutting parameters instead of guessing
- Learning suite — complete G-code and M-code references, tool management, and 26 example programs to learn from
- 8-material, 8-tool libraries — pick realistic setups
The stack
Next.js 16, TypeScript, react-three-fiber, Three.js, Tailwind CSS 4, shadcn/ui — deployed to GitHub Pages as a pure static site. No server, no telemetry; everything computes in your browser.
Who it's for
Students, machinists, hobbyists, and educators — anyone learning CNC programming who wants a safe, free sandbox that behaves like a real 3-axis mill before touching a real one.

Feature requests and bug reports are open — if you teach CNC and want a specific example program added, open an issue and I'll add it to the learning suite.
