I think that OS should have this compiler available on the X86-64 platform. There are 4: VAX, Alpha, Itanium, X86_64. VSI provides an X86_64 Community license for non-commercial tinkering, and I have a spare Intel I7 MacBook available. OVMS runs as a client in a VirtualBox host.
I'm using these instructions.
I find myself unable to complete this step, replacing the example arguments as appropriate:
rustup toolchain link dev-x86_64-unknown-myos ~/Documents/rust/rust/build/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/stage2
I've tried using $HOME/.cargo, the working .git for without success.
I've done the following:
- creating & compiling crt0.c on OVMS Clang, then using objdump on MacOS Sonoma; which indicates crt0 can be linked into whatever objects rustc hands-off to llvm. Besides accepting the OS loader handoff, crt0 configures filesystem path name conversions between Unix/OVMS syntax, and establishes OVMS image execution context. crt0 is based on similar code for Perl, Bash, MariaDB ports.
