I used to open GitHub Trending a few times a week, but the firehose got overwhelming fast. Half the repos I clicked were interesting, the other half were the same AI wrapper reposted under new names. A friend nudged me toward git-homed a while back and I've been quietly relying on it ever since. What I like is that it actually tracks the Trending board daily and then sorts new arrivals by language and category, so I can skim the Rust or Go sections without wading through everything else. It's not fancy, just tidy. If you also enjoy spotting small open source projects before they blow up, it's worth a look: git-homed.org. I check it with coffee now instead of doomscrolling.
