Granola released a new Mac dictation tool on October 29, 2026, that formats and inserts text into any application via the Fn key.
Available free across all plans, with upcoming iOS and Windows releases.
The new feature allows Mac users to press the “Fn” key and speak freely. The tool automatically cleans and formats the speech, converting it into final text in any application.
According to the company, the feature was launched on October 29, 2026 and is offered free of charge and without restrictions to all user packages, while it is expected to be available soon on iOS and Windows devices.
The move puts Granola, which is valued at $1,5 billion, in direct competition with Wispr, which is valued at $2 billion. Other companies in the space, such as Fireflies, Speechify and Monologue, are also adding similar dual functions.
