If you check SEC EDGAR, NWS, and USGS separately, one 8-K or warning can sit outside the tab you opened. Front Wire puts those named feeds into one page, keeps the source attached, and gives you one place to start the check.
Scan the feeds, then open the source
Front Wire watches USGS earthquakes, National Weather Service alerts, SEC EDGAR filings, and newswire headlines. Start with the feed that matters, then use the merged wire for the wider scan.
For a company check, open Markets and look for an 8-K. Front Wire links the item to the filing's own SEC index page, so the headline stays connected to the underlying record.
For a hazard check, open Weather and Seismic together. Weather items carry the event, affected area, and forecaster's statement text. Earthquake items carry magnitude, depth, location, coordinates, and tsunami status. Each item links back to its agency source.
The useful task is simple: scan the named feeds, open the item that needs attention, and verify the original record before acting.
What is free and what membership pays for
The wire is free to read, and the daily email is free. Membership costs $3 a month or $24 a year, and members read the same wire as everyone else. Stripe handles payment, while membership pays for running the wire, including polling, storage, and sending.
The current purchase terms are listed at Front Wire. There is no paid-only archive, ad-free read, or earlier-alert tier in the current implementation.
The limits that matter
Front Wire follows a fixed set of named feeds. It does not replace a keyword alert for an arbitrary phrase or a mention that appears outside those feeds.
The archive starts in July 2026. It does not provide older newspaper or newswire coverage. The site and daily email also present the same underlying wire, so paying changes who funds the service, not what the reader can see.
I would use the free wire when I need a quick check across these sources, then choose $3 a month or $24 a year when I want to support the polling and delivery that keep that check in one place.
