Hi DEV 👋

I'm Matti from Switzerland and this is my first post here. Full disclosure up front: I'm the person behind planomatti, so this is a bit of a #showdev post.

How it started

In Switzerland, ICT apprentices finish their apprenticeship with the IPA, a practical final project that runs over several days. You have to plan everything in advance, track it every day and compare your plan with what actually happened.

I didn't find a tool I liked for that. Most planning tools were either too big, too expensive or only did one thing well. So I built a small local app for my own IPA: a Gantt chart with a planned vs. actual comparison, plus a Kanban board for the daily tasks.

It worked better than I expected. After I finished, I kept working on it and in October 2026 I put it online as planomatti.

What it does

  • Gantt, Scrum and Kanban in one app, so you don't need three tools for one project
  • Workspaces you can share by invite, with push notifications
  • Templates for an IPA and for Scrum to get started fast
  • Four languages: German, English, French and Italian
  • Hosted in Switzerland
  • Free. No subscription, and that's not going to change

It works as a web app and as a PWA, so you can install it on your phone too.

Who it's for

Mainly apprentices, vocational schools and small teams or clubs who want to plan a project properly without a big enterprise tool. If you plan a side project or a small team sprint, it should work for you as well.

Under the hood

It started on Supabase and Vercel. This month I moved everything to a classic PHP and MySQL setup on Swiss hosting. Not the trendiest stack, but it's simple, cheap and I understand every part of it. Notifications run over the app's own Web Push.

I'd love your feedback

This is my first public project, so honest feedback helps a lot:

  • What feels confusing when you first open it?
  • What's missing for your kind of projects?
  • Would you use it for side projects or only for school and work?
