🌐 Linux Free Masterclass (Episode 4): Linux Installation (VirtualBox / VMware)

Do you need to wipe your main Windows operating system just to start learning Linux, or can you build a secure, isolated virtual computer inside your PC without risking your data? Through Virtualization.

Here are the key points from Episode 4:
🔹 1. What is Virtualization?
Virtual Machines (VMs): A technology that allows you to run one or more virtual computers inside your physical computer using software.
The Benefit: Your host operating system and main data remain completely safe. You can power on, test, or delete virtual machines at any time without risk.
🔹 2. Tools Needed & ISO Download
Hypervisor: Virtualization software such as Oracle VirtualBox or VMware Workstation Player to manage the VM environment.
ISO Image: The installation image of your chosen Linux distribution (such as Ubuntu or Kali Linux) downloaded from its official site.
🔹 3. Practical Setup Steps
Step 1: Open VirtualBox and click New to create a virtual machine.
Step 2: Name your VM, select your downloaded ISO file, and allocate hardware resources like RAM (e.g., 2GB or 4GB) and CPU cores.
Step 3: Assign virtual hard disk space (recommended 20GB–25GB) and finish setup.
Step 4: Power on the VM, follow the on-screen installer wizard (setting up language, timezone, username, and password), and your Linux environment is ready!

🚀 Think of virtualization like building a secure, separate cabin inside a large house (your physical PC)—whatever experiments you run inside that cabin won't scratch or harm your main house at all!
