I’ve released MotionBridge, an MIT-licensed project for turning recorded human movement into character animation through a browser-based workflow.
It is a basic, working foundation, ready for further development, testing, and updates.
Current features include:
- Local video analysis with synchronized tracking and character previews.
- Rigged GLB/FBX character import and automatic/manual bone mapping.
- Animated GLB and BVH export for Blender.
- An independent 2D PNG animation workspace with motion JSON export. Built with TypeScript, React, Three.js, and MediaPipe. I’m looking for Blender animators and riggers to test different characters and recordings, and developers interested in retargeting, motion cleanup, model compatibility, and usability. Try it, report what works and what breaks, or contribute a focused improvement. The project is experimental, and practical feedback will help shape its development. Source code Bug reports, documentation improvements, and pull requests are welcome.
