Multilevel Neural Corrections with Adaptive Sampling for Partial Differential Equations
arXiv cs.NA0 views
arXiv:2601.12000v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: We propose a multi-level framework for deep neural PDE solvers that integrates adaptive sampling with additive neural corrections. At each level, an adaptive sampling distribution is constructed from normalized residual-gradient indicators inherited from the preceding levels, thereby concentrating collocation points in regions where the current approximation exhibits large local errors or reduced regularity. The neural approximations obtained at previous levels are incorporated into a successive correction problem, leading to a hierarchical refinement of the numerical solution. Under suitable assumptions, we establish rigorous approximation results and derive error bounds for the proposed multi-level framework, which quantify the cumulative effect of the successive neural corrections across levels. Numerical experiments on representative PDEs with steep gradients and low-regularity solutions demonstrate the effectiveness of the adaptive multi-level strategy.
