Subtitle: A practical sprint for Xiaohongshu Professional setup + useful notes — checklists, not “guaranteed过审” fairy tales.

Updated framing: October 2026. Xiaohongshu / RedNote policies, fees, and industry tables move. Verify every step inside the official apps and help centers before you spend money. Not legal advice.

If you sell DTC from outside Mainland China, RedNote (小红书 / Xiaohongshu) looks like a shortcut: high-intent lifestyle discovery, beautiful notes, “China demand” in one app.

The expensive shortcut people actually buy is worse: ready-made verified accounts, rented licenses, engagement farms, or an agency that “guarantees approval this week.” Those paths often end in restricted assets and a week of Slack blame.

This article is the other path — a 7-day execution sprint you can run with a real entity, a phone number you control, and content that would still look honest if a compliance person screenshots it.

No promise of verification success.

No promise of traffic or sales.

No service that opens the account for you.

What “first 7 days” should mean

Day 1–7 is not “go viral.” It is:

  1. Choose an account path that matches documents you can produce
  2. Assemble materials without forged chops
  3. Draft a week of notes that survive a compliance skim
  4. Submit Professional verification when ready (or schedule the exact submit date)
  5. Start distribution hygiene: replies, a tiny creator shortlist, funnel plumbing

If your category is cosmetics claims, health, finance, infant nutrition, or other regulated lanes, treat counsel as Day 0 — not Day 30.

Day 1 — Orient and decide

Block 60–90 minutes.

Write one sentence: Brand awareness + site traffic / Official store later / KOL seeding only.

Pick entity type:

  • Mainland company or sole trader
  • Overseas / HK / Macau / Taiwan company
  • Individual Professional (lighter; not a full ads + commerce substitute)

List SKUs that are safe to talk about vs park until counsel. Create shared folders: Legal Creative Notes KOL Analytics.

Tonight’s output: goal one-liner + entity type + “do not post” SKU list.

Day 2 — Materials and account hygiene

Gather what the current form asks for. Overseas packs commonly need:

  • Color scan of BR / Certificate of Incorporation (or equivalent)
  • Chop or authorized signatory signature + title
  • Chinese translation + chop if the source file is not Chinese
  • Operator ID / passport as prompted
  • Trademark evidence if the nickname uses a brand string

Register or clean the base consumer account with a stable company phone. Draft nickname, bio, and avatar against naming traps: no official-soundalike (“小红书官方 / 红书 / 小红薯”), no ad-law superlatives, no “XX淘宝店” diversion names.

Bookmark official portals (paths move — search help if 404):

  • English Community Guidelines: https://www.xiaohongshu.com/en/community_guidelines

If you pay a local agent, contract language should forbid rented licenses.

Tonight’s output: document pack ≥ 80% complete or a gap list with owners.

Enterprise Professional first review / annual review fees are commonly cited around RMB 600 in secondary summaries — confirm on the payment page.

Day 3 — Positioning and calendar skeleton

Define three content pillars, for example:

  • Education (how to use / how to choose)
  • Proof (process, materials, unfiltered wear tests)
  • Soft product (honest limitations + where to buy officially)

Build a 4-week skeleton. Fill Week 1 completely (hooks + assets). Titles-only for Weeks 2–4 is fine.

Swipe 10 category notes for legal inspiration, not cloning. RedNote rewards usefulness and saves more than slogan energy.

Tonight’s output: Week 1 calendar filled; asset shot list.

Day 4 — Creative production sprint

Produce assets for three Week-1 notes. Captions: hook in line 1, usefulness in the body, soft CTA. Run each draft through a 60-second pre-publish skim:

  • Disclose paid / gifted / seeded relationships
  • No fake engagement plans
  • No disease cure / Rx-adjacent claims unless you are on a counsel-approved path
  • Cosmetics language matches registration / filing reality — not “medical-grade” cosplay
  • Prefer official collaboration tooling (蒲公英 / Pugongying) when money or samples change hands

English-only can work for expat niches; CN-first audiences usually need CN captions. Decide deliberately.

Tonight’s output: three notes ready (even if verification is still pending).

Day 5 — Submit (if ready) + seed distribution

Submit Professional verification or put the exact submit date on the calendar if you are waiting on chops. Screenshot the receipt.

Publish Note #1 if the consumer account can post. Reply to comments for a focused window after publish.

Shortlist 20 creators with niche, approx audience, and sample note links — quality over a scraped 500-row spam sheet.

Tonight’s output: submit confirmation or a blocker ticket; 20-creator list.

Day 6 — Outreach and funnel plumbing

Send five personalized creator emails (or platform messages), not fifty identical templates. If your primary action is a site, set UTMs and align the landing hero with Note #1’s promise.

Publish Note #2.

Keep off-platform “add WeChat for secret link” as a default funnel out of your opening week — dark diversion patterns are a common enforcement story in secondary reporting. Prefer profile / allowed components / official store when available.

Tonight’s output: five outreaches sent; UTM live; Note #2 up.

Day 7 — Review, systemize, decide the next bet

Publish Note #3. Snapshot impressions / saves / follows / profile clicks. Ask weekly funnel questions: did saves become profile clicks? Did clicks become a measurable next step?

Write a half-page memo to stakeholders with what you learned, not ROAS fairy tales. Schedule an annual verification reminder (+11 months) if already approved.

Decide next week deliberately: more organic, a small JuGuang test, or a first official creator order — one primary bet, not all three half-done.

Tonight’s output: Week-1 memo + Week-2 owners.

What we are explicitly not doing

Temptation Why skip it in week one
Buy a verified account Asset you do not control; integrity + recovery pain
Fake fans / comment farms Platform integrity rules; pollutes your own signal
“Guaranteed approval” seller Nobody honest can sell that outcome
Broad political / military / map-meme content High-risk for brand accounts
Undisclosed paid seeding Trust + enforcement risk

Buying accounts is how teams turn a content problem into a compliance problem.

A free sample, and the full pack if you want files

If you want this as fillable artifacts instead of a blog checklist, I publish a RedNote market-entry starter for overseas DTC teams:

Included in the full pack (self-serve): account setup checklist, content calendar CSV, compliance / banned-topic briefing, KOL email templates, funnel checklist, 7-day quick-start.

Again: checklist product, not legal advice, not an agency retainer, not account opening, and not a guarantee of verification, ranking, or sales. Re-check fees and fields inside Xiaohongshu before you spend.

Closing

Overseas brands do not lose week one because they “needed a local ghost account.” They lose it because documents, naming, and category truth were improvisational — while someone promised a shortcut.

Seven boring, owned days beat one exciting rented login.

Verify on official apps. Keep the receipts. Publish useful notes. Skip the account marketplace.
