When integrating the WhatsApp Cloud API, exposing a public webhook endpoint to receive delivery receipts (Sent, Delivered, Read) is mandatory. However, an unsecured public endpoint is an open invitation for malicious actors to spoof payloads, manipulate your database state, or trigger false auto-refunds.
Meta secures these webhooks by signing the payload with a SHA256 cryptographic signature (X-Hub-Signature-256 header). Surprisingly, many developers skip validating this signature because writing the cryptographic middleware in Node.js or Python can be tedious and prone to edge-case errors.
Abstracting Security with a Golang Infrastructure
Security should never be an afterthought, but it shouldn't slow down your development cycle either. At 5MinutesAPI, we built our pure Golang gateway to handle this cryptographic heavy lifting natively.
Here is how our architecture protects your backend without adding development friction:
Native Signature Validation: Our Go-based routing layer intercepts and cryptographically verifies every single incoming webhook payload from Meta in sub-milliseconds. If a payload signature is missing or invalid, it is instantly dropped at the edge.
Pre-Verified Event Streaming: Your backend never has to deal with raw, untrusted Meta webhooks. We stream clean, structured, and 100% verified events directly to your internal endpoints.
Secure Micro-Second Refunds: Because our webhook pipeline is mathematically secure, our automated refund engine (which credits your wallet for failed deliveries) operates with absolute zero-trust integrity.
Do not risk your application's state by leaving webhook endpoints exposed. Use an infrastructure that guarantees security at the routing layer.
