I recently stumbled upon a hidden gem on GitHub: a lightweight Windows Forms library by drJhonatan00. Although it was published only a short while ago, I want to go on record saying this: it is hands-down the best free WinForms library you will ever find.

The author packed 64 sophisticated components into a tiny library under 200KB. At first glance, 64 components might seem standard—until you realize the sheer depth and quality of what’s included. These are high-level controls that commercial UI suites typically charge hundreds of dollars for, completely free of charge.

✨ KEY FEATURES AND HIGHLIGHTS

Here’s a taste of what’s inside:

  • 3D Model Viewer: Native support for 4 file formats.
  • Advanced Visualizers: Interactive G-Code viewer and a native .wav sound wave visualizer.
  • Interactive Panels: Notification systems and draggable/connectable canvas panels.
  • Modern Controls: 5-star ratings, progress rings, multimedia players, loading spinners, and cursor-reactive animations.
  • React-like Aesthetics: Almost all standard UI components have been recreated with a sleek, modern, and animated look reminiscent of a modern web app.

🛠️ BUILT FROM SCRATCH (ZERO DEPENDENCIES)

After examining the source code, I was blown away. drJhonatan00 built every single component from scratch.

  • No external NuGet packages
  • No heavy dependencies
  • Pure native Windows resources & impressive math

🚀 FINAL THOUGHTS

The library is completely FREE and released under the MIT License. I’m already using it to modernize a legacy application I built a few years ago, and the performance and visuals are fantastic.

Since the project is brand new, I only found it by digging deep into GitHub repositories. I’m sharing it here because a project this well-crafted deserves visibility—and the more support the author gets, the more likely they are to keep building amazing tools for the community.
