Small business sites are often slow because they are built like large ones. For a local shop, most visitors arrive on a mid-range Android phone over 4G, so the technical priorities are different.

What matters most

Server-side rendering. The page arrives as ready HTML, which improves first paint and helps crawlers index the content.
Image weight. Keep each product image under 200 KB and total page weight under 1 MB.
Minimal JavaScript. A single-page retail site needs links and buttons, not a heavy client-side app.
Contrast for QR scanning. Dark modules on a light background scan reliably across Android and iOS cameras. Print at 2 cm x 2 cm or larger.
Dynamic QR codes. A redirect layer lets you change the destination without reprinting.

Where this applies in practice

I work with the team at V Think Solution, which built ALLQR, a single-page website and dynamic QR platform for small shops at ₹999 per year. The design choices above came from the problems retailers kept running into. A longer non-developer walkthrough is in this guide.

What would you add to the list? I would like to hear how others handle performance for local-business sites.
