Thmenu is a restaurant platform with one pricing rule: every feature is free, and the only revenue is 1% of the payments that are processed through Thmenu. This is a plain status report on where that stands today, with numbers read from our own database on 7 November 2026.
The model
- Every feature is free. There is no subscription, no trial and no plan limit.
- Thmenu earns 1% of the payment volume processed through Thmenu. Cash and payments made outside Thmenu carry no Thmenu fee.
- Online payment depends on the country: it works where Stripe Connect is available, and a restaurant that is paid directly by its guests (cash or its own terminal) is not charged anything.
- A referral partner who brings a restaurant receives 30% of that 1% fee. Thmenu keeps the other 70%.
What exists
- A QR menu in 31 languages that guests open in the browser, with table ordering, bill requests, reservations, a kitchen screen and staff screens.
- An MCP server (
mcp.thmenu.com) so AI assistants can read restaurant menus and, where a restaurant allows it, start an order. - Free guides about QR menus on the Thmenu blog, each with sources.
What the numbers say today
- 25 restaurant accounts exist. One of them is listed in the public directory, with its owner's consent: a bakery café in Antalya that is our first real pilot.
- 21 orders have been created in the database since September. Most of them are tests.
- The payment ledger has 0 rows. No online payment has been processed through Thmenu yet, so revenue so far is zero.
- The pilot is in Turkey, where Thmenu does not offer online payment, so it runs on cash and the venue's own terminal.
What we are unsure about
- Whether a 1% fee is enough to run a company. It only works if restaurants process real volume through Thmenu, and that has not happened yet.
- Whether restaurants will want to take online payments in the countries where Thmenu supports them.
- How much search and AI-assistant traffic a new domain can earn without paid ads. We run no ads.
What happens next
We want a handful of restaurants to use Thmenu during real service and tell us what breaks. If you run a café or restaurant and want a free QR menu, it takes a few minutes to start: https://thmenu.com/en/free
If you build in this space, I would like to hear what you would measure first.
