I’ve been working on something a little different from a traditional developer portfolio.
And I'm finally happy to share it. 🚀
Introducing my new portfolio: nurthedev.is-a.dev
I didn't want to build another website with the usual sections — About Me, Skills, Projects, and Contact.
Instead, I wanted to create something that reflects how much I enjoy technology: a personal portfolio inspired by a desktop operating system.
Here's what I've built into it:
- 🖥️ An OS-inspired experience — A desktop-like interface with application windows, a dock, and shortcuts to explore different parts of my profile.
🤖 Ask Nur (AI Assistant) — Visitors can interact with an AI assistant and a
- sk questions about my skills, projects, education, and availability. It uses information from my portfolio to answer.
- 💻 Project Showcase — A place to explore the projects I've built, the problems I'm interested in solving, and the ideas I want to bring to life.
- 📄 Résumé & Contact — Quick access to my résumé, email, and professional information.
- ✨ A personal touch — Even the interface and interactions are designed to make exploring my portfolio feel more like using a small desktop environment than browsing a conventional website.
One thing I learned while building this: a portfolio shouldn't just tell people what you can do. It should give them a chance to experience how you think and what you're capable of building.
This project also gave me an opportunity to work through deployment challenges and bring the application online with TanStack Start, Nitro, and Vercel.
It's not a finished destination. I'll keep improving it as I learn and build more things.
I'd genuinely love to hear what you think.
