KIBBUTZ NIR-AM, ISRAEL - SEPTEMBER 27: An armed Israeli settler carrying a slung assault rifle stands next to a stroller flying an Israeli flag outside Kibbutz Nir-Am on September 27, 2026 on the Israel-Gaza border. A group of Israeli right-wing activists from the Nahala settler movement, including Daniella Weiss, celebrated the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. Weiss is part of an Israeli settler movement that has stated its intention to repopulate the Gaza Strip with Israeli settlements. The last Israeli settlements in Gaza were dismantled and evacuated in 2005. (Photo by Erik Marmor/Getty Images)
